Our client is seeking to hire their first-ever Chief Growth Officer to help guide them through their next phase of growth. They are already leaders within their software niche, but now want to empower a CGO that will emphasize growth best practices, market penetration, client service, and team building.

This role will report directly to the CEO and will work across functional teams, with partners, and directly with customers. They will manage multiple priorities and lead the conversation for the company in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior member of the leadership team.

  • Actively participate in leadership meetings, as well as potential investor meetings as needed.

  • Be a thought leader and source of ideation. 

  • Champion best practices for collaboration across functional areas and geographic markets.

  • Help formulate and optimize SaaS sales and service methodology/funnel.

  • Create and implement sales and revenue generation processes. This will include market expansion, business development, partner programs, feature enhancements, customer insights and service, and pricing strategy.

  • Partner with sales and marketing on branding, messaging, and campaigns.

  • Help vet vendor partnerships and channel resources.

  • Set and manage budget, as well as work with finance to focus on profitability.

  • Be an impassioned leader people want to work for and with. This pertains to team building/recruiting, training, mentorship/development, and retention.

Preferred background

  • Must have experience in a growth leadership role from within a B2B SaaS company.

  • Experienced with using product-led growth (PLG) methodology (user acquisition, expansion/growth, conversion, retention).

  • SaaS company experience should include annual revenues between $10-50M.

  • Experience building product marketing and growth teams from scratch. We are committed to growing this team but we need a hands-on leader.

  • Ability to partner with demand-gen/marketing execution, customer success, support, and sales teams. In addition, you must have experience working with product and engineering teams on things such as feature determination/enhancements and UX design.

  • Experience with digital, direct, and data-driven marketing, advertising, media, production, marketing automation, and related platforms/functions.

  • Areas of focus:  strategic distribution;  demand generation;  in-product onboarding; upsell path optimization; align go-to-market (GTM) and revenue functions with the marketing-sales-customer success workflow.

  • MBA preferred, but not required.
